Here's how things will go: matches will occur every three or four days, depending on how the voting goes. So, please vote! And please tell your friends to vote! I don't want these bouts decided 5-3 or anything pathetic like that. So if you've got a blog, post a link; tell your friends on Facebook to check it out; email those not on Facebook; and if you're really desperate, talk to people in person and tell them to come and weigh in. (I realize this last suggestion is a bit radical, but we want a good turnout).
Here are the scheduled matches:

Max Schreck over Blade, Stephen? You took Cornell over Duke, didn't you?
I just enjoy the idea of Max Schreck actually being a vampire, and any movie with John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Udo Kier and Eddie Izzard is okay in my books.
Besides, the Blade legacy has been sullied by a couple of terrible sequels. The first one is cool, though.
Could have sworn I replied.
My justification is that I just really like the idea that Max Schreck could have been a vampire. Besides, any movie with John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Udo Kier and Eddie Izzard is alright in my books.
The Blade series has been sullied by a couple of pretty bad sequels. That's like 66% schlock. The original was pretty cool, though.
And Buffy could take any of those down in about 5 minutes, but I'd hate for her to be in a room with all of them at once.
(Clarence is a cool name for a cat.)
What, no love for Blade? There's no way that anyone could beat that guy in an out-and-out physical confrontation.

BLADE
I'll stick up for Blade 2, at least. I haven't had the pleasure of watching Blade 3 - but to be honest, I'm an action movie fanatic and it's unlikely that it will be bad enough for me to hate it ;)
* Blade over Schreck. After all, Blade specializes in killing other vampires.
* Selene over Bill Compton. Never seen either Underwood or True Blood, but man, Kate Beckinsale looks pretty hot on those posters.
* Drusilla over Marlow. Her innate creepiness outweights his viciousness advantage.
* David over Eric Northman. Upset special! Halfway through the fight, David gets a call from someone named Chloe informing him of Eric's weaknesses.
* Angel over Santanico. Another guy with loads of vampire-specific fighting experience.
* Lestat over Salvatore. Lestat is enraged by Salvatore's short jokes and Scientology barbs, and counters by having John Locke trap Salvatore inside a plane and send it off a hill.
* Spike over Cullen in a total rout.
* Master over Miriam. Never seen 'The Hunger,' but the Master was pretty bad-ass.
